Year 10 Mock Interview Day
Our Year 10 students recently took part in an inspiring Careers Day, designed to help them take their first steps towards the world of work and develop the skills needed for future success.
The day began with three engaging workshops focused on CV writing, interview skills and employability skills. Led by a fantastic team of volunteers from a range of industries and organisations, the sessions provided students with valuable insights into what employers are looking for and how they can best present themselves in professional situations.
In the afternoon, students put their learning into practice by taking part in a 10-minute one-to-one mock interview with a volunteer. This gave them the opportunity to showcase their CVs, answer interview questions and experience a realistic interview environment.
While many students admitted to feeling nervous beforehand, it was wonderful to see their confidence grow throughout the day. As they left their interviews, students could be heard proudly saying things such as, “I smashed it!” and “I got all excellents!” These comments reflected not only their success but also the confidence and self-belief they had gained from the experience.
The event was both enjoyable and highly beneficial, helping students develop essential life skills that will support them throughout their education and future careers. From communication and teamwork to interview techniques and self-presentation, the day provided invaluable preparation for the next stage of their journey.
A huge thank you goes to all of our volunteers and the organisations they represented for generously giving their time, expertise and encouragement. Your support made a lasting impact on our students and helped make the day such a success.
