Aldridge School Celebrates Reading Success

Aldridge School is celebrating another successful year of reading, with students in Years 7 and 8 collectively reading an impressive 14,327 books and more than 74.9 million words through the Accelerated Reader Programme. These figures highlight the school's strong culture of reading for pleasure.

Twenty students from Years 7 and 8 have been recognised for achieving the highest reading point scores in their year groups. Together, they read an outstanding 694 books, totalling more than 15.4 million words. This remarkable achievement demonstrates dedication, resilience and a genuine enthusiasm for reading.

The winners received their prizes from Mr Worth, Headteacher, in recognition of their excellent effort and commitment.

Mrs Kaur, School Librarian, said: "It has been fantastic to see so many students engaging with reading and challenging themselves throughout the year. Reading opens doors to academic success and personal enjoyment, and it is wonderful to celebrate the achievements of these students."

The Accelerated Reader Programme encourages students to read regularly, develop their literacy skills and broaden their reading experiences, supporting Aldridge School's commitment to helping all students to thrive.
